On November 4, 2015, Six Nations Polytechnic celebrated the “Champions for Change” during their Indigenous Education Conference. It is a great honour for Artistic Director Santee Smith to be recognized as a Eihwaedei Yerihwayente:ri (Community Scholar) alongside her father Steve Smith. Six Nations Community Scholars also included: Elizabeth Doxtator, Michael Doxtator, Ga:gwihsohk Tracey Deer, Roronhiakehte Elijah Deer. Six Nations Eihwanosda:s Yerihwanonstats (Indigenous Knowledge Guardians) honoured included Betty Henry, Amos Key Jr., Elva Jamieson, Art Johnson, and Gloria Sky.

Kaha:wi Dance Theatre is grateful for the support we receive from friends, family, community and sponsors. It is an honour to be recognized by arts colleagues in Ontario and also by our home community of Six Nations of the Grand River. As KDT nears the end of our 10th Anniversary year, we look forward to a bright future of touring and community engagement.
